According to MySA, local business Mr. Crabby’s Cajun Seafood & Bar is preparing to debut its second outpost in the San Antonio area.
Coming to 1827 N. Loop 1604 — taking over a space that was formerly home to Tomatillos Restaurant & Bar, which shuttered back in January — the eatery will soon be neighbored by establishments such as Best Buy, the Mongolian BBQ restaurant Genghis Grill, and the entertainment venue Main Event.
“We have a lot of the construction done inside, so it should be [open] probably about the second week in October,” Regional Manager Charise Gravelle tells the Journal. She adds, “We already have our murals painted. It’s going to look absolutely beautiful.”
The upcoming spot in Alamo City will mark the business’s fourth location, joining existing restaurants in Laredo, Live Oak, and McAllen, according to MySA.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Gravelle to inquire about her plans for the spot; however, she could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the Journal reports that the upcoming Mr. Crabby’s location will be “inspired by Bourbon Street and the culture of Louisiana,” offering “live music, multiple bars, a playground for children, a courtyard area and plenty of seating.”
On the menu, locals can expect to find seafood options such as fried shrimp, po’ boys, steamed oysters, gumbo, crawfish étouffée, and crab sold by the pound.
An exact opening date has not been announced yet. Follow What Now San Antonio on Facebook for updates to this story.
