Perenn Bakery opened its South Nashville café on August 1, bringing its signature baked goods and casual service to Berry Hill. The South Nashville outpost doubles as a central production facility supporting Perenn Franklin and as a cozy café in its own right.

At this spot, customers can order at the counter and pick from coffee, breakfast, and lunch items. Guests can watch every step of the baking process, from grinding and mixing dough to shaping croissants and breads.

The cafe is open for counter service espresso, pastries, bread, breakfast, and lunch from Tuesday to Saturday between 7 am and 2:30 pm.

Diverse Menu and Inviting Atmosphere

Perenn Bakery offers a more relaxed vibe compared to its Franklin location, which has full-service dining. The café menu features casual fare like egg sandwiches, toast, and salads, alongside house favorites such as hand-crafted croissants, pastries, and baguettes.

Popular menu items are The Breakfast Sandwich, Prosciutto Cotto Baguette, Ricotta Toast, Fish + Egg, Perenn Kale Salad, and Vanilla Crème Brûlée Kouign Amann. Perenn also offers standout drinks like the Iced Herbes de Provence Latte, Matcha Cloud, and Espresso Con Panna.

The space combines clean industrial design with the brand’s warm feel. Tall wood-paneled ceilings, cozy mezzanine-level seating, and views into the active bakery create a warm, vibrant atmosphere.

There are intimate cafe tables on the first floor and outside, and long community tables and banquet seating upstairs. A hand-painted espresso machine greets guests at the coffee counter, with artwork by Renee Evans displayed on the walls.

From the mezzanine, guests can watch grains being milled on a Vermont-made New American Stone Mill and see croissants and breads in the lamination process.

Guests can buy their freshly milled flour and pick up grab-and-go items like salads, sandwiches, cookie dough, drinks, and other treats. Perenn Bakery also brings freshly baked goods straight to local restaurants and stores.

Founders’ Culinary Journey

In May 2025, husband-and-wife duo Aubrey and Tyler O’Laskey opened their first Middle Tennessee spot, Perenn Franklin. That restaurant quickly earned a reputation for its European-inspired dishes, welcoming service, and beautiful boathouse setting on Main Street.

The couple’s story started at the Culinary Institute of America and grew through years of private chef work and catering. BIn 2018, the duo opened Perenn Midtown, a cozy neighborhood café in Reno, Nevada.

Its success paved the way for them to grow Perenn into a full-service restaurant, a bakery, and a market.

Owner Aubrey O’Laskey said, “We’re so excited to bring this next chapter of Perenn to Nashville. This space is designed to show the love and labor behind every bite, and we can’t wait to share this experience with you.”

In the future, the cafe will host intimate breadmaking classes and community events to further connect locals to the baking process. Perenn plans to open a third Middle Tennessee location in 2026. This upcoming concept will combine a bakery as well as a grocery store, all under one roof.
