According to Express News, Bobbie’s Southern Kitchen is preparing to reopen on San Antonio’s South Side.
Coming to 1922 Goliad Road, taking over the former home of Neptune’s Seafood House, the upcoming restaurant will land just a hop and a skip away from the business’s former location on South Flores Street, which shuttered on Labor Day last year due to disputes with the landlord.
“There was no question whether we were coming back to the South Side,” Co-owner Ana Ferris tells the Journal. She continues, “That’s where we’re from. That’s our heart. That’s where we got started. We never wanted to leave the South Side.”
Bobbie’s Southern Kitchen is known locally for its all-day breakfast menu that includes items such as French toast, waffles, pancakes, omelets, biscuit sandwiches, and popular plates such as the Morning Wrecker — a dish that consists of chicken-fried steak, hashbrowns, eggs, and biscuits, all topped with sausage gravy.
There will, however, be a few slight changes to the menu at the upcoming location. For example, because of the upcoming location’s proximity to Kenny’s Burgers, burgers will no longer be on the menu. A selection of beer and wine will be added, though.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Co-owner Greg Ferris, the grandson of Bobbie’s Southern Kitchen’s founder, to learn more about the upcoming restaurant; however, he could not provide additional information before publication.
Bobbie’s Southern Kitchen South is slated to open on October 1. Until then, locals can continue to visit the concept’s North Side location at 606 Embassy Oaks #100.
