Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is expanding in the state. It has inked a lease for a space in the Grove 98 development in Wake Forest, with plans to open next summer, according to reporting by the Triangle Business Journal.

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill finds its roots in Charlotte. The steakhouse-and-seafood spot has six spots in the Charlotte area, as well as one in Winston-Salem and a few spots in the Triangle including Raleigh, Durham and Morrisville. It has more than 60 locations across the country.

The restaurant chain offers a contemporary take on a classic American concept. Menu items include filet mignon, aged ribeye, surf and turf, slow-roasted prime rib, wood-grilled salmon, Chilean sea bass, lobster fondue salmon, baby back ribs and honey garlic chicken.

The brand was acquired by investment firm Garnett Station Partners in 2023. Garnett Station invests in a variety of industries, including food and beverage, health and wellness and automotive brands.

It will join other brands like Whataburger and Chopt in the Wake Forest development.
