American restaurant J. Alexander’s is looking to take over the space in Peachtree City that formerly belonged to Smokey Bones at 100 Market Place Blvd. Smokey Bones shuttered at the end of June.

J. Alexander’s received a favorable response to its proposal, which went before the Peachtree City Planning Commission in late July, according to The Citizen.

The restaurant currently has two locations in Georgia, including one in Peachtree Corners and one in Dunwoody. The menu features salads, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, steak like New York strip and slow-roasted prime rib, seafood like Carolina crab cakes and seared ahi tuna, and specialty entrees like brasserie chicken (panko-crusted with parmesan and lemon butter caper sauce) and barbecue baby back ribs.

J. Alexander’s has more locations across 15 states.

The restaurant is part of SPB Hospitality, which acquired J. Alexander’s in 2021. Based in Houston, SPB Hospitality operates multiple brands including Krystal, Logan’s Roadhouse and Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom.
