What started as a pop-up is now turning into a permanent location in the Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood.
It is being reported that Rhinestone coming to 2100 SE Clinton Street sometime this year. This will be a permanent restaurant from the pop-up led by bartender Trevor Thorpe and chef Graham Chaney. As of now, there is not an estimated opening date.
According to an article from Portland Business Journal, the space will be “elevated tex-mex-fast food,” also serving cocktails. Their menu is available on Rhinestone’s website, and it features sandwiches, ribs, a crunch wrap and Mexican pizza. Cocktails are also listed, with flavors coming from lemon, mango, pineapple and hibiscus.
“Drawing inspiration from southwestern fare and late night drive-thru cravings, chef Graham Chaney presents an array of whimsical indulgences that will satiate any craving,” says the description on their website.
Thorpe told What Now Portland there is not a set opening date as the business still has to get through licensing. He and Chaney have been operating the pop-up since February, and their new location will be a brick-and-mortor. It is going in across the street from Sushi & Izakaya Japanese restaurant at the corner of SE Clinton Street and SE 21st Avenue.
The listed hours of operation are 3 p.m.-10 p.m., with days of the week TBD. There will also be outdoor operating hours, with indoor seating for 102 and outdoor seating for 36. More information can be found at rhinestonepdx.com.
