Wawa took a significant step toward bringing its signature hoagies, coffee, and convenience offerings to Middle Tennessee. At the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, the privately held chain, which operates more than 1,100 stores in 12 states and Washington, D.C., hosted the event.

During the same day, Wawa broke ground for the construction of two future stores; one located at 5109 Veterans Parkway, Murfreesboro, TN 37128, and the other at 1290 Parkway Place, Clarksville, TN 37042. Both stores are expected to open in the second half of 2026. The festivities included VIP guests, local officials, and nonprofit groups, and provided the community members with their first glimpse of what is to happen in the future.

Guests sampled Wawa coffee, pretzels, teas, and lemonades while hearing directly from company leaders about the brand’s move into Middle Tennessee.

“It’s official! Wawa is proud to be expanding to the Middle Tennessee market. We are thrilled to continue growing in new markets to provide the community with our one-of-a-kind offer and commitment to supporting the community,” said Joe Collins, Director of Store Operations for Wawa. “We are excited to announce our plans and officially start construction on our stores and look forward to our first grand openings to begin serving the community in 2026.”

Wawa’s Middle Tennessee debut is part of a larger plan to open up to 50 stores statewide over the next decade. An estimated $7.5 million, 140 contractors, and 35 employees are required for each Wawa location. This Middle Tennessee expansion plan not only benefits the brand but will also help the community by generating around 1,750 new jobs.
