According to recent reporting, one Dayton Italian restaurant is closing, but it will be replaced by another. Franco’s Ristorante Italiano, located at 824 E 5th St, announced that it will close March 16, but it will be replaced by another Italian concept. Mo Jusufi, the owner of Jimmy’s Italian Kitchen located at 3002 Woodman Dr in Kettering, has purchased Franco’s and will be reopening it as a second Jimmy’s Italian Kitchen location.

Once Franco’s closes later this month, currently, plans are in place for Jimmy’s Italian Kitchen to have a soft opening in May, after the space has undergone some cosmetic updates.

Jimmy’s Italian Kitchen serves a variety of pasta entrees including alfredo, made with chicken or shrimp, veal or chicken marsala as well as chicken or eggplant parmesan. Other pasta dishes include lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, baked ziti and ravioli. Additionally, there are salads, soup and appetizers such as garlic bread, mozzarella sticks and calamari.

The menu also features calzones and pizzas, as well as desserts like baklava, cheesecake, tiramisu and cannoli.
