Starfish, the celebrated Asian Coastal Cuisine restaurant from Southern California, is bringing its vibrant flavors and coastal vibes to Scottsdale at 8390 E. Vía de Ventura.

The company’s third location is scheduled to open in Winter 2025, according to its website. The new restaurant will introduce locals to Starfish’s signature blend of freshness, quality, and exceptional service, crafted by the husband-and-wife team of Archie and Gretchen McConnell. With over 14 years of dedication to dynamic dining experiences, this will be the first Starfish in Arizona and promises a unique coastal atmosphere perfect for any occasion.

Featuring a full bar, spacious indoor and outdoor patios, group dining, catering options, and a takeout kitchen, the Scottsdale venue caters to a diverse range of needs, from casual meals to large celebrations. The menu showcases the best of Asian coastal regions, Thailand, Korea, Vietnam, China, and Japan, with more than 70 shareable plates designed to delight adventurous palates.

Starfish also boasts handcrafted cocktails, an extensive selection of Asian and local brews, hot and cold sake, and a globally inspired wine list sourced from premier producers, elevating every dining experience. Their scratch kitchen uses premium ingredients, rooted in tradition but innovatively prepared for the modern palate.

Founded in 2011 by the McConnells, Starfish Hospitality Group has built a reputation for premium Asian dining and hospitality, with locations in Laguna Beach and Newport Beach, California. This expansion reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering unforgettable culinary experiences and fostering positive community connections.

“We’re bringing our celebrated Asian Coastal Cuisine from Southern California to Scottsdale,” the founders said on their website, “Expect the unexpected.”
