Argentinian artisanal bakery Boûlan has four locations in its home country, and now it appears to be making landfall in the US. This week, What Now came across plan review documents submitted by Baker Partners LLC for “Boulan,” opening at 69 NW 24th Street in Miami.

Behind Baker Partners LLC are Boûlan cofounders Diego and Leandro Muscat (coverage by Forbes Argentina from December 2023 explains how the brothers celebrated the brand’s tenth anniversary by launching three new locations), along with Rodrigo Calabrese and Miguel De Arregui, partners in the Miami-based management company Sauce Miami.

“Boûlan is tradition, passion, and respect for something as simple and complex as bread,” says the brand’s website. (The translation is ours and should be taken with a grain of salt.) “Boûlan is a dream that began four generations ago, when, in 1933, our great grandmother crossed the Atlantic and began a tradition of baking that marked our lives… In 2007, a question at the Christmas table ignited the spark: ‘Why don’t we do what our great grandmother did?’”

The Forbes Argentina coverage describes the brand’s innovations, modernizing techniques from the past and bringing together “sourdough and champagne.” (You cannot go wrong there!) A quick look at the menu, and we find croissants, Pain au Chocolat, cakes, muffins, macarons, a wide selection of breads, and sandwiches like the Boulan Club Sandwich and a croissant with ham and cheese.

What Now reached out on Thursday to Rodrigo Calabrese to ask about plans for a Miami debut for Boûlan. Calabrese was not immediately available for comment. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
