Despite its popularity in the Arts District, Father’s Office will close its Downtown LA location. Despite the traffic in the area, the beloved gastropub had to decide on its permanent closure at the location. Adding to this is the ongoing inflation that has made it hard for many businesses to survive in the area.

Owner and Chef Sang Yoon confirmed the closure, emphasizing that it wasn’t due to any single factor. Looking back, the Arts District location faced several challenges from the very beginning. This started with the pandemic that closed the location just three months after its initial opening.

When the gastropub reopened in 2021, it struggled with low customer traffic and rising costs, lingering effects of the pandemic. Despite having pushed all the way until now, he sees that it is best to close the location now.

Announcement Made Via Social Media

The closure was announced in a straightforward social media post, confirming the restaurant’s final day of service. According to the social media post, their last day of service will be on Friday, September 5, 2025.

Fans of the Arts District location can visit one last time before it closes its doors in September. Meanwhile, the gastropub will continue operating in its other locations.
