Tyler Wells, who previously opened the restaurant All Time and has since left, is planning a new concept in Altadena, having recently submitted paperwork for a project named Betsy Altadena at 875 E. Mariposa Street.

The new concept is set to move into the former home of Bernee, according to a recent liquor license application. Specific details about the restaurant’s concept and projected opening timeline remain unclear. What is known is that Tyler Wells is no longer a part of the All Time team and has left the restaurant to pursue this new concept.

Tyler opened All Time in 2018 with then-business partner Ashley Wells, earning recognition for their approachable Californian-Italian menu, robust wine program, and hospitality-driven ethos. Their first cookbook, The Cookbook of All Time, was released earlier this year and offers insight into their culinary philosophy, along with recipes for several of the restaurant’s most popular dishes. Tyler Wells previously co-founded Handsome Coffee Roasters and ran Nice Coffee. More information on Betsy Altadena is expected to be released in the coming months.

Altadena offers a unique blend of residential charm and creative energy, making it an ideal setting for a thoughtful, chef-driven restaurant like Betsy. The area has seen steady growth in independent dining concepts, yet it remains underserved compared to its neighboring city of Pasadena. Located near established local favorites and close to hiking trails and scenic foothills, 875 E Mariposa Street provides a serene yet accessible spot that aligns well with Tyler and Ashley Wells’ neighborhood-focused, hospitality-driven approach.

Editorial Note: A previous version of this article stated Ashley Wells was a part of this project, when that is in fact false. Tyler Wells is no longer associated with All Time and has since left the restaurant, with no further association with it.
