Hawkers Asian Street Food has a new location slated for the Greater Nashville area, with plans to open in Franklin at McEwen Northside. It is listed as “coming soon” in the McEwen Northside directory and the Nashville Business Journal reports that it is slated to open in 2026.
Launched in Florida in 2011 by friends Kaleb Harrell, Allen Lo, Wayne Yung and Kin Ho, Hawkers serves dim sum such as roasted duck baos, pork belly baos, wantons and chicken dumplings; egg rolls, spring rolls and summer rolls; and meats such as bulgogi steak, wings and Hong Kong sticky ribs. There are also rice, curry and noodle options ranging from bibimbap to Pad Thai. The beverage program features craft cocktails, sake, Japanese whiskey, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages.
“Asian street food is special. The flavors are bold and unapologetic, the recipes are passed down from generation to generation and the wok technique is unparalleled,” the website states. “The best Asian street food mesmerizes all five senses: sight, smell, sound, touch, and of course, taste.”
Currently, the brand has six locations in Florida, two in Georgia, one in Maryland, two in North Carolina, two in Texas and one in Virginia. There is also one location in Nashville.
Hawkers announced a partnership with private equity firm Savory Fund in June, with plans to use the partnership to spearhead a new era of growth for the company.
Hawkers Asian Street Food is not the only new restaurant joining McEwen Northside. Culinary Dropout, part of the Fox Restaurant Concepts portfolio, is also slated to join the development. It is also listed as “coming soon” on the McEwen Northside website.
