According to a recently submitted alcohol license application, a new yet-to-be-named restaurant is preparing to open in Berkeley.
Coming to 2511 Channing Way, the eatery will land just down the street from the University of Berkeley campus, and near existing establishments such as Gypsy’s Trattoria Italiana — a “fast-food outfit with late hours provides Italian comfort dishes to a student-heavy clientele,” per its Google Maps profile — the sandwich shop Mezzo, and the hot dog joint Top Dog.
What Now San Francisco reached out to the concept’s owner, Hye Allen, to learn more about his plans for the upcoming eatery; however, he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the restaurant will be located in a foot traffic-heavy area and will likely cater primarily to students attending the nearby university. Per his contact information, Allen is also associated with a sushi restaurant in the Bay Area. It’s unclear what cuisine will be offered at his upcoming establishment.
An opening date has not been announced yet. Follow What Now San Antonio on Facebook for updates.
