The ownership behind Brigid’s Irish Pub in South End has plans in the works for another Charlotte neighborhood. Fenian’s Keep will open at 423 East 36th St. in NoDa in the 1,500-square-foot space adjacent to Waterbean Coffee.

Owner Kyle Musumeci told What Now Charlotte that the pub will feature an affordable, no-food menu of spirits and ales with an atmosphere similar to that of sister concept Brigid’s Irish Pub. His goal is to transport that same community-centric feeling to the NoDa neighborhood and complement existing businesses operating in the area.

“My biggest thing has always been being part of the neighborhood,” Musumeci said. “Those are the places I like to go to. It’s your neighborhood spot where everyone knows you and everyone knows everyone else’s name — that is the community vibe that you want in a pub. That’s the inspiration behind all of it.”

Expect Fenian’s Keep to feature a pub atmosphere with dark accents. It will have TVs for sports viewing as well as live music.

The goal is to open the spot in January.

For Musumeci, Fenian’s Keep is the next step in a gradual expansion for his brand across the city. Moving forward, he hopes to continue to explore how he can bring concepts to different neighborhoods throughout Charlotte.

“The idea is that as Charlotte grows, we’ll keep growing with it,” Musumeci said. “I enjoy the concept, and I think other people do as well. Each neighborhood has its own specialty as far as what they’re known for, so as Charlotte expands, we want to keep growing with it and to bring the same neighborhood vibe people want.”
