According to recent reporting, a popular food truck will soon debut a brick-and-mortar restaurant.
Local restaurateur Matt Carver, who purchased a historic property along Buda’s Main Street in 2020, where he will be debuting his popular Louie’s Craft BBQ concept as a brick-and-mortar restaurant.
Reportedly, Carver recently secured up to $270,000 in incentives from the City of Buda for the project.
“He’s aiming to, at this time next year, open Home or Away, a seven-day-a-week, family-friendly sports bar concept with nearly 50 big screen televisions, food for all ages, family-friendly amenities and more,” the report states.
“One of the things that I’ve noticed over the last couple of the years is that Texas barbecue is still Texas barbecue – there’s still a huge demand here. But for a family to do that every week, it’s pretty expensive. So how you marry another business with Texas barbecue and it blends well? That is the concept,” Carver said.
Carver referred to the incentives as “huge” for a small business trying to finance a construction project. He and his team are aiming to restore the building and expand it from 3,000 to 5,000-square-feet.
“We would not have been able to do it without them,” Carver said.
No opening date has been announced.
