According to a recently submitted permit application, the San Antonio-based taqueria Tia’s Taco Hut plans to debut a new outpost on the west side of the city.
Coming to 6032 Montgomery Road, the eatery will soon be neighbored by establishments such as the organic coffee, tea, and snacks shop Desert Brew Coffee, Miss Tacos (a casual eatery known for its tacos, burritos, and tortas), and a QuikTrip location.
What Now San Antonio spoke briefly with the concept’s co-owner, Benny Costello; however, he was unable to provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing reveals that the finish-out of the 2,500 square-foot space is scheduled to begin in just a few days, on September 15, and is expected to be completed by October 31, 2025. For an estimated $130,000, the project will be carried out by the local firm B&C Construction.
With 13 locations in operation — and another that’s “coming soon” to 3643 Evans Road, Suite 101 — many San Antonio locals are already familiar with the concept’s Tex-Mex offerings: breakfast tacos served fresh all day, classic Mexican entrees (such as carne guisada, chile relleno, and chalupas), and grilled meat plates that come with rice and beans.
The expansive menu also boasts a selection of soups such as caldo and menudo, sandwiches and burgers, and a ‘Texas Classics’ section that features a chicken tender basket, chicken-fried steak, and a fried fish platter.
