The inspection at Blue Mountain Coffee Roasters revealed multiple violations. No active managerial control was found at the facility and the Person-in-Charge could not demonstrate knowledge of food allergens and related symptoms.

Inspectors observed that the employee did not wash their hands between tasks and could not explain the restaurant’s employee health policy regarding foodborne illnesses. The facility did not provide verifiable documentation that employees are aware of their responsibility to report foodborne illnesses.

An employee was found drinking from an unapproved container (multi-use cup) in the coffee roasters area during the inspection. It was observed that the utensils in the chlorine sanitizer measured less than 50 ppm.

Inspectors noted Clorox wipes stored above single-use containers. The inspectors found four wet, soiled cloth towels on prep counters, not stored in sanitizer solution.

The facility lacked a sanitizer test kit for its chlorine sanitizer. Employees left the drive-through door open while assisting customers, but the air curtain was turned off. The inspection report noted that outer openings must be protected against insects and rodents.

Follow-Up Inspection

The facility must earn a score of 80 or higher to pass the follow-up inspection. A follow-up inspection will take place within 10 days, and the facility needs to address all the violations before that.

Unsatisfactory scores, repeat violations, and uncorrected violations may result in permit suspension.
