The Bep Teahouse made its Georgia debut last year with an opening in Johns Creek. Now, the franchise owners are ready to expand with a second location, this time targeting Duluth. The spot will open in late 2025 in a 2,700-square-foot space at 2180 Pleasant Hill Road, franchise owner Hugh Do told What Now Atlanta.

“We’re super excited to be in Duluth,” Do said.  “We live in Duluth — this is our home. So we are excited to open in Duluth and offer this product in our backyard to friends and families that live in this area.”

Do, who operates The Bep Teahouse with his wife, said they both have a deep love for boba tea. They were drawn to The Bep Teahouse brand because they are able to offer more than just basic milk tea offerings. Like their Johns Creek location, the Duluth spot will offer more than 100 drinks, including milk teas, fruit teas, smoothies, slushies, coconut water drinks, coffee and more.

The Bep Teahouse is a Vietnamese-style brand, which attracted Do and his wife. Do’s wife is originally from Vietnam, and Do is half-Vietnamese himself. They view it as an opportunity to bring an element of their heritage to the community.

“I think it’s great to be able not only to do something we love, but also to be able to put our culture out there,” Do said.

In addition to an extensive drinks menu, The Bep Teahouse offers snacks such as Vietnamese rice paper salad, kitty paws waffles and cake pops. At the new Duluth location, the team will have a full kitchen, meaning they will be able to expand their food offerings to include items like Korean fried cheese dogs, French fries, chicken wings and fried tofu balls.

Do emphasizes that the spot is not only a place to grab a drink and a snack, but also a place to gather. They offer board games and a large area for people to enjoy food and drinks on-site. They aim to make The Bep Teahouse a family-oriented place.

“A lot of boba tea shops are traditionally small and narrow,” Do said. “We aren’t like that. We have a huge space for the customers to sit down, relax, bring their family, play some board games, eat some snacks and hang out.”

Eventually, they hope to expand beyond these first two locations. Their constant goal is to find ways to embed themselves in the community. For example, at their Johns Creek location, they sponsor plenty of local sports teams. They hope to replicate this community-oriented atmosphere in Duluth, and eventually in other neighborhoods.

“We want to be involved in the community. We feel like that kind of stuff is special,” Do said. “At the end of the day, it just brings us joy to bring people some happiness in a cup.”
