A new Korean restaurant is headed to Brookline.
Daniel Choe plans to open Bap Street at 1026A Commonwealth Ave, according to documents recently filed with the town. The cozy, takeout-friendly eatery will offer seating for 20 people inside.
Choe hopes to “capture the nostalgic element” of Korean cuisine for those already familiar with it, while also introducing fresh flavors to newcomers, reports Brookline News.
The preliminary menu highlights Korean classics like kimbap (seaweed-wrapped rice rolls akin to sushi) and bibimbap (rice bowls topped with meat and assorted vegetables), alongside small plates and desserts.
Choe is no stranger to the restaurant world. According to his LinkedIn page, he has managed several New York establishments, including notable venues under the NoHo and Union Square hospitality groups.
While an official opening date has not yet been announced, Bap Street plans to operate daily from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Stay tuned for updates as the restaurant works through permitting.
