Izzy’s on the Peninsula to Close in San Carlos
The San Carlos restaurant, located at 525 Skyway Road, announced the news on September 17. After serving the San Carlos community for twenty years, the restaurant is ready to shut its doors permanently.
As per the Instagram post, the final dinner will be served on October 4, 2025. Moving forward, Izzy’s will concentrate on its flagship location in San Francisco. The community is invited to have the Izzy’s experience for the last time.
The Journey of Izzy’s Steaks & Chops to Expansion in San Carlos
Izzy’s Steaks & Chops first opened on Steiner Street in San Francisco in 1987, quickly becoming a family-run staple in the Bay Area dining scene.
The San Francisco flagship blends classic steakhouse traditions with modern touches, from hand-cut steaks and local seafood to regional wines, craft cocktails, and a historically inspired interior.
Building on that success, Izzy’s expanded with its San Carlos location, Izzy’s on the Peninsula. The San Carlos restaurant carried over the flagship’s legacy, offering the same signature steaks, seafood, and traditional sides.
Both locations were renovated recently. While the closure marks the end of the restaurant’s presence on the Peninsula, the original San Francisco location will continue to operate, carrying forward the brand’s legacy of classic steaks, chops, and warm hospitality.
