According to a recent Facebook post, following a string of negative reviews, Charlie’s Restaurant at the Windsor Golf Club — located at 1340 19th Hole Drive, near the winery Bruliam Wines, Russian River Brewing Company, and the winery Stringer Cellars — has shuttered and is being replaced by a new concept, Jimmy’s Lakeside Café.

“For years, Charlie’s Restaurant was a local favorite, celebrated for its lakeside patio and casual yet refined American fare. The space, overlooking Windsor Golf Club’s picturesque fairways and lakes, has long been a destination for both golfers and the greater Sonoma County community,” the owners share in a recent press release.

“Under Jim Goff’s leadership — whose ventures include the acclaimed Sky Lounge Steak House & Sushi Bar — this iconic location will reopen as Jimmy’s Lakeside Café,” the statement continues.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reimagine one of Sonoma County’s most beautiful dining settings,” said Jim Goff. He adds, “Jimmy’s Lakeside Café will celebrate what people have always loved about this space — the views, the hospitality, the connection to golf and wine country — while adding new flavors, events, and energy that make it a gathering place for today and for the future.”

The Press Democrat reports that Goff plans to carry forward the same philosophy he brought to his previous restaurants and offer a broad menu using fresh, local ingredients. At his past establishments, this meant mixing comfort food with sushi, steaks, burgers, and offering a complete wine and beer list.

The restaurant is currently undergoing renovations and is slated to reopen on October 1, 2025. Follow What Now San Francisco on Facebook to stay up to date on the latest restaurant happenings in the Bay Area.
