A new Thai restaurant is preparing to join St. Petersburg’s Central Avenue restaurant lineup: Thai Hala. According to plan review documents submitted by Thai Hala LLC, this new spot will open at 7224 Central Avenue, in the space formerly occupied by Azucar Cuban Cafe.

What Now confirmed news of the opening with a representative of the restaurant on Thursday. The representative declined to share further details about Thai Hala’s opening plans or the menu it’ll be serving, however.

What we do know while we wait for more news, however, is that Thai Hala will be serving halal Thai cuisine.

Opening in the former Azucar Cuban Cafe, between 73rd and 72nd Streets South, Thai Hala would join restaurants like Ming Ming Tea/Sushi, The Wheelhouse, and Alesia Restaurant.

Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
