The Phoenix Art Museum is debuting Alden, a 3,862-square-foot New American restaurant, on October 1. The concept was created in partnership with CS Hospitality, the team behind Conceptually Social, along with Operating Partner Monica X. Castillo. The restaurant’s name pays tribute to Alden B. Dow, architect of the Museum’s original 1959 building.
Alden Opens Its Doors: A Culinary Art Experience
Located inside Phoenix Art Museum, Alden overlooks the Dorrance Sculpture Garden and offers a refined but welcoming space for visitors to enjoy food, art, and community.
“Inspired by the visionary spirit of the Museum’s architect, Alden B. Dow, this new restaurant invites guests to savor an artful culinary experience that echoes the creativity and innovation found throughout our campus,” said Jeremy
Mikolajczak, the Museum’s Sybil Harrington Director and CEO.
“Beginning this October, we encourage everyone to make reservations and enjoy a day at the Museum. Explore this season’s extraordinary exhibitions, discover unique finds at The Museum Store, and now, complete your visit with a memorable meal at Alden, presented in partnership with CS Hospitality,” the CEO said.
New Dining Destination at Phoenix Art Museum
Alden’s menu features modern American flavors made with seasonal ingredients and influenced by global cuisine. Menu highlights include hamachi crudo, seasonal salads like fattoush or hearty greens, and sandwiches such as a chicken katsu bun or indulgent patty melt.
Entrées include dishes like squash risotto and steak frites. Desserts include a whimsical strawberry trifle, a playful nod to architect Alden B. Dow’s favorite strawberry shortcake. The restaurant also offers a full kids’ menu along with house-crafted cocktails and zero-proof options.
Hours of Operation
Beginning October 1, Alden will welcome guests Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m
The restaurant will also offer grab-and-go service with outdoor seating on Grossman Terrace, with full outdoor dining launching in November ahead of the holiday season.
Blending modern cuisine with the Museum’s artistic legacy, Alden is poised to become a new cultural and culinary destination in Downtown Phoenix.
