A new hot pot restaurant is simmering in Downtown Boston.
GrowlGrowl Hot Pot is currently in the works at 48 Winter St in Downtown Crossing, confirmed owner Lisa Li. A representative for the eatery told What Now Boston that the team is currently addressing a fire system issue, making it difficult to pin down an exact opening date. However, they’re targeting a late October 2025 debut.
Though the full menu is still being finalized, the restaurant’s website lists several soup bases, including spicy Sichuan, Sichuan pepper, and Japanese tomato, alongside drinks like spiked boba.
Described as an “Asian-inspired hot pot haven,” GrowlGrowl promises to “electrify your taste buds with a bold fusion of pan-Asian street food traditions served up with a playful twist.”
With more than 15 years of experience in the kitchen, the culinary team draws inspiration “from Shanghai’s alleys to Bangkok’s night markets,” blending signature spices from Sichuan, Tokyo, Delhi, and Kuala Lumpur.
“At GrowlGrowl, every simmering pot becomes a cultural crossroads – where East-West ingredients dance in harmony, creating your personalized symphony of global flavors,” the site reads.
