Warm cookies and cold scoops are set to sweeten Seattle this fall.
Owner Timothy Morris told What Now Seattle he has been perfecting his cookie recipe since 2016, and now the oven timer has finally gone off, signaling it’s ready to debut. Cookie Crave & Creamery will open at 4417 Wallingford Ave.
Customers can choose from 12 cookie flavors, including a rotating seasonal option, all baked in-house. Morris said two of his favorites are the lemon chip cookie, topped with a fresh lemon glaze, and the almond bliss, made with almond paste, almond extract and rolled in shaved almonds.
The menu also includes classics such as chocolate chip with sea salt, black and white with dark and white chocolate chips, peanut butter chocolate chip, oatmeal and an oat protein cookie that is vegan and gluten-free.
“We make the batch and then refrigerate overnight–the butter hardens again. A lot of time when you bake a cookie right after you make it, it just runs quite a bit,” Morris said. “We’ll always be constantly baking throughout the day and making them so they’ll be fresh and hot.”
The shop will serve eight ice cream flavors from Olympic Mountain Creamery, available by the scoop or pint.
“We have sandwiches. We can do open face or closed. You can pick which cookie you want or you can have different ones with the ice cream,” he said.
The sweet spot will also offer pre-shaped cookie dough for customers to bake at home, and Morris said he can’t wait for the community to try all the treats.
“I love the community in Wallingford. It’s west of the U District. They have a walking score of 97. There’s a school right there, so just becoming a part of the community, getting to know and serve the customers and hopefully getting lovely feedback is important,” Morris said.
Cookie Crave & Creamery plans to open this October and is ready to chip away at cravings. For updates, visit the shop’s website and follow on Instagram.
