Ted’s Montana Grill is eyeing expansion in Georgia, with plans to open in a 4,311-square-foot single-story building in Marietta Square, co-founder and CEO George McKerrow confirmed in an email with What Now Atlanta.
“At Ted’s Montana Grill, we’re always seeking the right opportunities to grow — especially in our hometown of Atlanta,” McKerrow said. “Marietta Square felt like the perfect fit. It’s a vibrant area with history, charm, and local pride — all of which align with our values. The lot has been vacant since 2010, and we see this as a chance to help the community thrive by creating new jobs, supporting local businesses and providing a welcoming gathering place. Already a beloved destination for restaurants that are both independently owned and have many locations throughout the state, the Square is the ideal setting to share our classic American fare and signature hospitality in a place that truly feels like home.”
Ted’s Montana Grill already has a presence in Marietta, with two locations open in the area. In total, there are 10 locations open throughout the Greater Atlanta region. The chain has 38 locations spread across Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Montana, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia.
Expect to see a familiar design at this Ted’s location, including rustic elements, wood accents, cozy leather booths and soft lighting. There will be Western-inspired artwork, a polished bar and an outdoor patio.
“While the Marietta Square location will stay true to the Ted’s Montana Grill experience our guests know and love, each restaurant is designed with its community in mind. We are a collection of individual community restaurants and operate with an independent approach,” McKerrow said. “Everything is made fresh, from scratch, in small batches throughout the day — no restaurant uses a microwave. We also partner with local businesses whenever possible, incorporating neighborhood flavors into the dining experience through local brews, bourbons, farm-fresh produce and supporting important community organizations and events.”
The menu features American cuisine, including burgers, chicken sandwiches, bison, steak and salads.
If everything goes according to plan, they hope to open the new location in early 2027.
“We’re committed to making it feel like a natural extension of the Marietta community, while still delivering the classic American fare and genuine hospitality Ted’s is known for,” McKerrow said.
