"I hope customers can come from the perspective of looking at pizza in different variations, versus having a standard expectation of what pizza is or should be," owner Nicole Bean says.

Pizaro’s Pizza is widely known and beloved around Houston for its one-of-a-kind Napoletana-style pizza. Next year, the pizza spot will open a small edition of the acclaimed pizzeria in the George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

According to this recently filed permit, Pizaro’s Pizza is expected to open doors at 3100 N Terminal Rd. in July 2026. Owner Nicole Bean confirmed with What Now Houston that the goal is to open in June or July of next year. Bean shared that the design of the building is underway, but construction has not yet started.

Bean is partnering with leading airport hospitality company, OTG Management, to bring the new dining experience to the airport. The new pizza spot will be the third location for Bean and the team. Although the new eatery will have a limited menu, you can expect to taste a little bit of Pizaro Pizza’s pizzazz in every bite.

What we’re trying to do is kind of an homage to each style of pizza in our physical locations,” Bean said in an interview with What Now Houston.

Those styles include authentic Naples-style pizza, New York, and Detroit pan pizza. But the popular pizzeria didn’t always offer the last two.

Believe it or not, the highly esteemed pizza eatery was born out of a hobby. Bean’s father, Bill Hutchinson, started making pizzas in 2009. But, not just any ol’ pizza, authentic Naples-style pizza.

A certification from the “Verace Pizza Napoletana” and multiple trips to Italy later, Bill, his son Matt, and wife Gloria opened Pizaro’s Pizza Napoletana in a small shopping center in Memorial.

It wouldn’t be until 2013 that Bill’s daughter, Nicole, and her husband, Brad Bean, would join the team, helping them open their flagship location in Montrose in 2015. The location would be the family’s first to dish up the three styles it now offers.

Pizaro’s Pizza remains home to Houston’s original Napoletana pizzeria, as its website states, and while Napoletana-style pizza will be offered at the new airport location, it will be slightly different.

“We don’t have a woodfire pizza option available at the airport; it will be an electric or a gas-assisted oven,” Bean said.

Bean’s style is fresh, varied, and unique. The family-run pizzeria chain doesn’t offer the traditional slice-style pizza. But it’s iconic Napoletana-style, New York deep dish, and Detroit pan-pizza will be served at the new airport location, made fresh and in-house daily.

“I hope customers can come from the perspective of looking at pizza in different variations, versus having a standard expectation of what pizza is or should be,” Bean said.

Pizaro’s Pizza is expected to open its new airport location in the summer of 2026.
