Fellowship Coffee Company is getting an upgrade, and with it comes the sweet smell of freshly baked goods. According to a recently submitted permit, the artisan cafe is renovating its 3434 FM 1092 Rd. St. 352 location.

Owner Ryan Borinaga confirmed with What Now Houston that construction on the property will start soon. But, don’t worry, you’ll still be able to get your banana pudding lattes, amongst other sweet and savory items. Borinaga tells us that the cafe will temporarily close for a short time during construction sometime in November, with hopes of opening anew by December of this year.

Fellowship Coffee Company has come a long way since its humble beginnings as a mobile espresso and coffee bar offering hand-crafted iced and hot lattes. Borinaga and his wife, Janice Chiu, first launched the concept in 2021, opening their first brick-and-mortar coffee shop at the 3434 FM 1092 Rd. location in the Township Square Shopping Plaza just last year.

Hailed as the only organic coffee roaster in Houston, the growing coffee spot supplies its shop with the finest organic coffee beans from 12 different countries, according to its Instagram. The coffee shop offers specialty coffees and flavors like Brown Sugar Magic, Caramel Dream, and Honey Lav.

Though Borinaga currently works with a local bake shop to offer a variety of fresh pastries to his customers, he tells us that he aspires to figure out how to bake in-house soon, with a focus on croissants, cinnamon rolls, and hot sandwiches. Stay tuned to the Fellowship Coffee Company social media pages to stay up to date on those offerings.

After the dust settles from the upcoming expansion, Fellowship Coffee Co. in Township Square will have more seating for customers to enjoy. Borinaga excitedly shared that he will be adding a coffee roaster area with bar seating as well.

The extended space will also serve as an event place for small parties to rent. Packages will come with coffee and pastries.

“The biggest purpose of our shop is to help bring people together, and hopefully we can extend our love for coffee and people to the community,” Borinaga said.
