A retail store with ramen served inside is under construction in downtown Vancouver.

Minari Market is set to open at 808 Main Street by the end of the year. This is a retail and instant ramen concept moving in next to Softea. There is not yet an opening date, but work inside the space is well underway.

Leah Pluard, who is opening the market with her father, Kenn, has been taking to social media to announce the project. As of September, the space is under construction and supplies are being moved inside. Leah said she aims to open a brick and mortar that “creates a positive impact.”

Kenn is the co-founder of Softea, and also the co-founder of this project. He was also the CEO of Kenji’s ramen restaurant at 204 SE Park Plaza Drive #103, which is now listed as closed. At the time in January 2024, Pluard was working to expand the space to include an outdoor patio.

In the new market, there will also be merchandise like hoodies and snacks. A photo booth is also going in the back of the space. The instant ramen bar location has not been finalized, as the owners are working through renderings for the inside.

The market is across the street from Joe Brown’s Cafe and Donnell’s Bar. Technically, it will be in the same space as Softea, with separated areas.

Minari will be updating their social media as updates come out. For more information, visit their Instagram @minarimarket.
