Matt Frauenshuh, who has served as CEO of Fourteen Foods since 2006, is preparing to launch his first unique restaurant concept. Truce will open as a 4,530-square-foot restaurant at 1809 Mallory Lane in Cool Springs in spring 2026, according to a release. Construction is currently underway on the space.

The flagship location will offer all-day dining based around the concept of providing customers with “fine food fast.” Expect chef-driven dishes that incorporate clean ingredients, including shareables, sandwiches, salads, entrées, desserts and pastries. Signature offerings will include the Truce Toast, the Orchard Superfood Salad, the Salmon Smash Burger and the Steakhouse Sandwich.

The beverage program will feature specialty coffees, teas, smoothies, infused waters, beers, wines and nonalcoholic drinks.

“My wife Beth and I had a dream to create a restaurant unlike anything out there – truly putting people first, offering delicious, real food without the harmful ingredients, served in a beautiful setting and convenient for the guest,” Frauenshuh said in the release. “As a dad of four always on the go, I know how challenging it is for busy families to find a restaurant that everyone wants to go to. At Truce, we aim to provide something for everyone. It’s never a compromise, it’s a Truce.”

The goal of Truce is to offer healthy food while still opting for customer convenience. In addition to a dining area, Truce will feature a spacious patio, a drive-thru and a dedicated mobile app with its own pick-up lane.

“We are breaking the mold, both in food quality and convenience,” Frauenshuh said in a statement to What Now Nashville. “We’re meeting our guests where they are — an answer of convenience for busy families while delivering on a craveable, delicious meal you don’t feel guilty about. Where else can you get a salmon smash burger through a drive-thru?”

The spot will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering a full menu as well as a kids’ menu. All ingredients will be organic and sustainably sourced wherever possible, aiming to support farmers who use regenerative farming practices.

Truce will also offer an employee compensation and empowerment model that aims to bolster the local community. Frauenshuh also hopes to forge partnerships and charitable initiatives that contribute to the community.

“With a passion for people, our vision is to serve incredible food and drinks that have amazing, clean ingredients,” Frauenshuh said in a statement to What Now Nashville. “Our goal is to enhance the lives of our team and community through the power of food.”

In his time at Fourteen Foods, Frauenshuh has built the company’s portfolio from seven restaurants to more than 250 Dairy Queen Grill & Chill restaurants across 14 states. Fourteen Foods is the largest operator of Dairy Queen franchises in the U.S.
