The owner of a popular noodle bar is moving their food cart to downtown.
It was recently reported by Bridgetown Bites that Bing Mi is moving from the Midtown Beer Garden to a new location at 701 SW 6th Avenue. It will seemingly have the same menu and will open after the move sometime in November.
The exact opening date is not known right now, but the owner Hang Ren is working to get permits approved. In a recent Instagram update, Ren did apply for the food cart and will try to get it open “as soon as possible.” It will be a different layout, so that is a contributing factor in the opening date being pushed back.
Bing Mi’s flagship location is at 2572 NW Vaughn Street, north of the Nob Hill neighborhood. It is known for beef and onion dumplings, and noodles with add-ons like Chinese sausage and pork belly. Their Midtown Beer Garden location, 431 SW Harvey Milk Street, has the loaded jianbings with extra egg, crackers and veggies. It is believed the new cart will also have jianbings.
The cart is going right at the Pioneer Courthouse Square, near The Block sandwich shop. This is right next to the Pioneer Square South light rail station.
