Culver’s, the Wisconsin-based fast-casual restaurant that brings Midwestern hospitality to Florida, is opening a restaurant in Bushnell.
According to the Culver’s website, the restaurant will be located at 1942 W. C48, though an opening date has not been set.
The first Culver’s was opened in Sauk City, Wisconsin, by George, Ruth, Craig, and Lea Culver in 1984. It quickly grew a loyal following for its menu if regional Wisconsin favorites like ButterBurgers — made with fresh 100% Midwestern beef and served on a buttered bun, fresh frozen custard, and cheese curds, made with Wisconsin cheese. Other items include comfort items such as pretzel bites, mashed potatoes, and chili.
The restaurant prides itself on cooking its ButterBurgers fresh to order using beef sourced from family-run farms. Its frozen custard is made in small batches throughout the day using fresh milk from Wisconsin dairies.
For those values, the restaurant chain has been rewarded with steady growth. Today, there are more than 1,000 locations in 26 states. Though the Culver family still retains majority ownership, a number of locations have operator/partners. The Bushnell location will be operated by S&L Companies‘ Jeff Liegel and Chad Stevenson, who currently operate nearly three dozen Culver’s locations in Florida, with additional locations in Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and Alabama.
