Smalls Sliders is ready to burst onto the hamburger scene in San Antonio, starting with the first opening of three planned restaurants. According to Culture Map San Antonio, the first Smalls Sliders to open in the Alamo City will open at 3103 Wurzbach Rd. in January 2026.

Don’t worry, it’ll be tough to miss the opening of this new fast-food eatery. “Smorange Cans,” as the nationwide brand calls them, serve as the structure for each Small Sliders throughout the country. You guessed it, it’s a bright orange shipping container-style building that garners enough attention on its own. Pumping out variations of its delicious mini cheeseburgers, Small Sliders, has quickly risen to fame throughout the US and is now taking that energy to San Antonio.

Brandon Landry of Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux in Louisiana is the bright mind behind the operation. Landry started Small Sliders in 2019, opening the first location in Baton Rouge, LA.  There are now more than 300 Smalls Sliders locations across more than 30 states.

Though the Wurzbach Rd. location is the first set to open in San Antonio; it is only the beginning of bright orange shipping containers dishing out small cheeseburgers, popping up throughout SA. The brand recently launched franchising in May 2023.

Last year, Smalls Sliders announced a franchising agreement with the San Antonio father-son duo of Hakim Restaurant Group, Ramzi and Danny Hakim, to bring 12 locations to the Alamo City. So far, three locations have been announced. Opening dates for the Smalls Sliders set to open at 2418 SE Military Dr. and 8743 Highway 151 have yet to be announced, and neither have the other locations set to open in San Antonio.

But you can expect the same menu Smalls Sliders serves up throughout the country. The Smalls Sliders feature menu item is simple: a toasted bun, cheese, pickle, and smauce. You can get that in a multitude of ways with bacon, with a double patty, and more. The combos include a drink and seasoned waffle fries, and as if that’s not enough, Smalls Sliders also offers a variety of shakes, including vanilla, chocolate, and cookies & cream.

“We only use high-quality ingredients and make our cheeseburger sliders fresh to order, always. Our waffle fries are made with the most superior spuds, too. Then seasoned to perfection for dippin’ & dunkin’ ’til your heart’s content. Our shakes, well, they’re just the coolest,” the Smalls Sliders website reads.

What Now San Antonio reached out to the Hakims in an attempt to bring you, our beloved readers, a bigger bite of Smalls Sliders’ first venture into the Alamo City, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.

But, don’t fret, the most important details are here: Smalls Sliders is indeed coming to San Antonio, and the bright orange cans should show up and start dishing out sliders at 3103 Wurzbach Rd. by January 2026.
