Melt N Dip is expanding into the Houston market, starting with an opening at 21788 Katy Freeway, Suite No. 300. A recently filed permit shows that construction on the sweet shoppe is expected to start in December and wrap by mid-February 2026.
What Now Houston spoke with the franchisee behind the expansion, Raheel Suria, who shared that he intends to open the first Melt N Dip in the Greater Houston area by the first week of March 2026.
“From an ambience perspective, from a family environment perspective, where you can sit and enjoy a good dessert, that’s the space that we’re targeting, and Melt n Dip is the perfect fit,” Suria said.
The sweet treat eatery offers crepes, waffles, afigato, gelato, fresh juices, fruits for dipping, and pizookies. Suria says it’s the perfect option for the already booming culinary scene in Houston.
“From our perspective, when you look at the food scene in Houston, I think hands down, Houston would be the food capital of the United States by now. There are just so many options,” Suria said.
But the franchisee acknowledged that he wanted to fill a need for a nice sit-down dessert option after visiting one of Houston’s illustrious dining options.
“There’s not a lot of choices, so that’s the space that I saw a lot of gap in,” Suria said.
The international brand was founded in 2013 and made its way to the US in 2023. Melt N Dip‘s first flagship US location lives in Illinois, where the brand took off. There are now nearly 20 Melt N Dip’s in Canada and the US, with the majority of them serving Illinois. There’s one in Florida as well, but this Melt N Dip along the Katy freeway would be the first in the state of Texas. According to Suria, it is only the beginning of its expansion in Houston.
Suria shared that he plans to open another Melt N Dip shortly after the Katy freeway location opens, and based on how they received the franchise, would like to open seven to eight more over the next few years.
“I’m excited about the brand. I hope that Houston likes it, appreciates it, and gives us the opportunity to go and expand the brand all over Houston,” Suria said.
You can try the first Melt N Dip in the state when it opens at 21788 Katy Freeway, Suite No. 300, at the beginning of March 2026.
