Restaurant Naides, a new upscale Filipino restaurant, is getting ready to open in San Francisco at 708 Bush Street.
The restaurant will take over the former Sons & Daughters space, which is relocating to the Mission district in the former Osito space, according to SFist. Co-owners Patrick Gabon and Celine Wuu recently submitted a liquor license for the location. While an exact opening date has not been announced, Wuu tells What Now San Francisco that the restaurant plans to launch by the end of the year. Guests can expect a tasting menu featuring Filipino ingredients alongside foraged, preserved, and fermented components.
Restaurant Naides is the project of Gabon and Wuu, with Gabon having previously worked under Sons & Daughters executive chef Harrison Cheney. The new concept aims to carry forward some of the elevated dining techniques familiar from the previous restaurant, while emphasizing Filipino culinary traditions and locally sourced ingredients.
The Bush Street location has a history of fine dining, previously home to Sons & Daughters, which earned two Michelin stars for its tasting menus and intimate service. The space is expected to accommodate a similar high-end experience with a focus on detailed plating, seasonal menus, and carefully curated courses.
The menu at Restaurant Naides will feature a 10- to 13-course tasting experience designed to highlight both traditional Filipino flavors and modern culinary techniques, incorporating fermentation, preservation, and foraged ingredients. The approach is intended to offer diners a distinctive, immersive experience that blends cultural authenticity with contemporary presentation.
Gabon and Wuu are overseeing both the kitchen and operational management of the new restaurant. Their combined experience aims to deliver a polished, innovative concept that fits the San Francisco fine dining scene while introducing a new perspective on Filipino cuisine.
