West Midtown’s mixed-use development, The Interlock, is getting a boost as two new tenants join its second phase, Interlock Tower. Meanwhile, the grand opening of Lidl marks a major milestone for the community, fulfilling a long-requested need for a neighborhood grocer. The new tenants are set to bring hundreds of jobs to West Midtown.
Two New Tenants Set to Boost West Midtown at Interlock Tower
SJC Ventures’ Interlock Tower is the second phase of The Interlock, a mixed-use district in West Midtown. The 272,766-square-foot property is designed to offer entertainment, student housing, dining, and grocery options in one destination. Located next to the Georgia Tech campus, Interlock Tower provides direct access to the city’s growing talent pool.
Interlock Tower recently announced two new office leases. The new tenants include AMX Logistics and Sola Insurance. The former will occupy a 20,299-square-foot office space on the 10th floor, while the latter occupies an 8,480-square-foot office space on the eighth floor.
AMX Logistics specializes in freight and logistics services, handling full-truckload, less-than-truckload, and courier operations. The company chose Interlock Tower for its new corporate headquarters. This move will bring 200 jobs to West Midtown by the end of the year. Phil Costabile and Lawrence ‘LG’ Gellerstedt IV of Foundry Commercial represented the company in the lease transaction.
Sola Insurance is an Atlanta-based insurance company. It offers innovative, data-driven policies that keep premiums affordable and consistent. Chris Purpura with Savills represented the company in signing the lease.
Aileen Almassy with Partners Real Estate represented Interlock Tower in the signing of both leases. The property’s immediate availability and proximity to Georgia Tech offer companies a valuable recruiting advantage. The two companies saw great potential in the mixed-use district, which led to this move.
Lidl’s Grand Opening Marks Community Milestone
Lidl officially opened its doors at Interlock Tower on October 22. The German grocer fulfills a long-standing community request for a convenient neighborhood supermarket. The 31,000-square-foot store features a mix of private-label products, global imports, and everyday essentials.
Located at 1090 Northside Dr. NW, it is easily accessible to the community. Its location next to Georgia Tech makes it a convenient stop for both students and West Midtown residents. It is an integral part of the project that truly brings the feel of a community to the area.
