Big news broke last week when Nobu Hospitality shared plans to open a new residential property in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood—a property which will also house a new outpost of the acclaimed Nobu Japanese restaurant.
“We’re thrilled to announce 619 Brickell!” said an Instagram post published by Nobu Hotels. “Nobu Hospitality’s first residential project in Miami and a new architectural landmark on Biscayne Bay, designed by Foster + Partners in collaboration with Sieger-Suarez Architects. This 74-story tower will offer 300 residences, 90,000 sq. ft. of private amenities, and Miami’s second Nobu restaurant with breathtaking waterfront views.”
With locations across North America, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific, Nobu is the creation of globally renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa, a chef “most well-known for his unique take on traditional Japanese cuisine with Peruvian ingredients, a style often referred to as ‘Nobu style.’”
Details on the new restaurant have yet to be revealed. As the Miami New Times observed in coverage of the announcement, “Nobu has not yet confirmed the opening date, chef, or menu. Based on its existing locations, the Brickell restaurant is expected to feature many of Nobu’s classic dishes, as well as the minimalist design aesthetic that defines its global portfolio.”
