With three locations in Lakeland, Black & Brew Coffee House & Bistro has grown since it served its first customers on Valentine’s Day in 2006.
“It was a dream realized for two brothers who had long desired to open their own business in the city they grew up in,” the Black & Brew website says about that first day in business. “A 23-year-old Chris McArthur and 21-year-old Michael McArthur had little in the way of real experience or resources, but had plenty of energy, enthusiasm, optimism and a complimentary set of ‘do whatever it takes’ attitudes. After connecting with some very forward thinking investors, that dream was brought to life and was received in a way that exceeded their every expectation.”
Almost twenty years later, you can enjoy the cafe’s selection of coffee drinks, breakfast, and sandwiches, and more at three locations—and soon, at an upcoming fourth location.
“We’re thrilled to share the Black & Brew is opening soon inside Lakeland Regional Health,” says a post published by the brand on Instagram yesterday. “Our newly remodeled 2,600 sq. ft. café will open this December in the Carol Jenkins Barnett Pavilion for Women and Children — bringing locally roasted coffee, an array of fresh eats, and legendary hospitality to the heart of the hospital.”
What Now reached out to Chris McArthur on Wednesday to ask about plans for the new Black & Brew. McArthur could not be reached immediately for comment.
