The space formerly occupied by the Salty Nun, which closed earlier this year, will soon be home to a new Greek restaurant: Mythos Greek Bistro. The new restaurant promises authentic Greek cuisine with a singular, chef-driven approach.

“We’re bringing in Chef Kostas, who has been doing this for years,” co-owner Danjel Morina told What Now on Wednesday. “We’re going to have homemade spreads, lots of seafood, small plates, entrees and sides, and a really great octopus: charcoal-grilled with red cabbage and leeks.”

Renovations to the former Salty Nun space include a large patio that will feature about 12 tables. Inside is a bar carried over from the previous layout, along with several booths. The stage is also sticking around, to be used for live music, DJs, and dance events on weekends.

To top it off: cocktails and authentic desserts like baklava, and Greek orange cake.

“We’re looking forward to being part of the community,” said Morina. “We want to make this place welcoming for everybody. We’re excited to bring this concept to St. Pete. I think it’s something that’s been missing.”

An opening was originally expected in mid-November, but Mythos has faced some delays. Stay tuned for an updated opening date.
