Crepeccino is continuing its rapid growth with the opening of a third location, this time at the new Portico at Shaenfield. The new crepes-all-day-eater will live at 7807 West Loop 1604 N, and according to the owner, Bara Ekhlayel, it’s expected to be open by mid-February 2026.

What Now San Antonio reached out to Ekhlayel after receiving a lease comps report for its fourth location, which is set to open in Houston. Ekhlayel shared that this is the beginning of the Crepeccino expansion, with hopes of opening at least two more in Houston before venturing into the Austin and Dallas markets.

“Nowadays, you can tell, the old Americano restaurant is getting kind of lost in that they’re getting out of style. Like IHOP, Denny’s. The younger generation doesn’t like it anymore. They need a new alternative,” Ekhlayel said.

The restaurateur aspires for Crepeccino to be that alternative.

“We provide quality, good food, and in the location, especially, I don’t have a lot of competition, especially when it comes to breakfast. Not a lot of people can do that,” Ekhlayel said.

Offering breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, Crepeccino specializes, as the name would suggest, in a variety of crepes. For breakfast, customers can go sweet and savory like the Sweet Turkey Crepe, which is actually an Ekhlayel favorite, or savory and healthy like the Herb Ricotta & Feta Cheese Crepe. For lunch and/or dinner, how about the Chicken Pesto Crepe or the Chicken Alfredo Crepe

“It’s to die for. The smell of it, the parmesan, and it’s really really refreshing,” Ekhlayel said of the latter.

Of course, guests can enjoy other items besides crepes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, like the Fish & Chips, a host of omelets, and sweets.

Most importantly, Crepeccino is branded as quality food at an affordable price.

“We’re about the quality, not about the quantity, and about just sale sale sale. No, the main goal is the quality,” the Crepeccino owner said.

Crepeccino offers imported materials that are of above substantial quality, according to Ekhlayel, who shared that he gets customized fresh cheese daily.

While food is of the utmost importance for the Crepeccino owner, so is the dining experience.

“We not only care about the quality, but also we’re trying to bring back the old American customer service quality,” Ekhlayel said.

“When you come to dine with us, it feels like you’re dining in a fine dining restaurant with a reasonable price or a casual restaurant price.”
