With more than 175 stores in seven countries, including the U.S., Mexico, and Brazil, Freddo Gelato serves up traditional Italian gelato in a variety of flavors both classic and adventurous. Now the gelato brand is opening a new location at 5562 S Flamingo Road in Cooper City, as part of the Countryside Shops.

News of the lease broke last year, when FA Commercial Real Estate announced the signing. This week, What Now confirmed news of the opening with a franchisee behind the Cooper City store. The representative was not available for a conversation by deadline, however, so we’re still waiting on some of the details.

Freddo Gelato’s gelato flavors split into several categories. There are Creams like Amarena (vanilla gelato with Italian cherries and chocolate chunks), Banana Split (with caramel and chocolate chunks), and Mascarpone (mascarpone cheese with raspberry sauce). Then there are the Chocolates: Dark Chocolate (with 90% cacao), Salted Caramel Chocolate, and Freddo Chocolate (with hazelnuts and hazelnut cream).

Next up you find sorbets in fruit flavors like Blackberry, Raspberry, Pineapple, and Mango, followed Dulce de Leches. There’s original 1969 Dulce De Leche flavor, plus Dulce de Leche Choco Chunks and Dulce de Leche with Oreo.

Opening in the Countryside Shops, Freddo Gelato joins restaurants like Taj Indian Grill, Zenshi, and Vienna Cafe & Bistro.
