Currently located at 6641 Midnight Pass Road in Siesta Key, the Shebeen Irish Pub and Kitchen is preparing to pick up stakes and move to Gulf Gate, where it will replace Sarasota Brewing Company, according to a recent post by Restaurants in Sarasota. That will see the reopening of the Shebeen at 6607 Gateway Ave.
“We are planning for a soft opening on 2/1 and a grand reopening on 2/17,” owner Eileen Carrigan told What Now on Friday.
The Shebeen’s menu features appetizers like Sausage Rolls, Leek & Mushroom Croquettes, and an Irish Appetizer Platter (2 each: potato Boxty, Sausage Rolls, Leek & Mushroom Croquettes, 2 Pretzels with beer cheese & gravy). Mains include Shepherd’s Pie, the Shebeen Pub Burger, and Corned Beef & Cabbage.
“Food was great, service was excellent, ambiance was perfect,” says one 5-star Google review. “I had the fish and chips, the wife had the Mac-n-cheese special (outstanding). The fish was lightly breaded and the [meat] flaked off perfectly cooked. The chips were good and crisp on the outside but soft and yummy on the inside.”
Stay tuned for an update with more details on the Shebeen Irish Pub & Kitchen’s new home.
