Located at 3516 S Wynn Road, GYU Plus serves up “Japanese-Inspired Sandos and Rice Boxes Curated to Satisfy Your Lunch Cravings”—by day. From 6 p.m. to midnight Thursday through Saturday, GYU Plus is transformed into GYU Plus Social, “an intimate, social lounge specially created to relax and unwind with people you care about.”

In its beloved lunch form, GYU Plus serves up favorites like the Steak Sando (1/2 lb. of beef filet, onion jam, secret sauce & shokupan bread) and the Chicken Katsu Sando (panko-crusted chicken thigh, spicy mayo cabbage slaw, pickled daikon & carrot, tonkatsu sauce, shokupan bread). You can also order the Chef’s Box, the “chef’s unique combination of Japanese wagyu & American beef filet, koshihikari white rice, shiitake mushroom, red onions, yakiniku & shiro miso sauce.”

Now, the restaurant appears to be expanding to a new location: licensing paperwork submitted by GYU Plus 2.0 LLC shows a new GYU Plus opening at 8480 W Sunset Road, Suite 200. There, GYU Plus would be situated among restaurants like Rachel’s Kitchen Express, Denny’s, McDonald’s, and PT’s Ranch.

“Being huge fans of Japanese cuisine, Freddie Paloma and Luis De Santos often discussed bringing this concept to life after their many travels to Japan,” the GYU Plus website says, telling the story of the brand’s origin. “In October 2024, GYU+ took the next step, opening its first brick-and-mortar location in the heart of Las Vegas’ Chinatown. As part of this expansion, GYU+ Social Lounge, an intimate Japanese speakeasy, was introduced within the space, offering a unique and immersive experience alongside our signature cuisine.”

What Now reached out to Luis De Santos on Thursday to ask about plans for the opening. De Santos could not be reached immediately for comment.
