Patel confirmed with What Now Austin that there are plans in place to open a new Tropical Smoothie Cafe, but didn’t confirm the opening date.

What Now Austin attempted to chat with Patel through a call and via text, but wasn’t able to get much information from him by the time of this publication.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe began as a single smoothie stand in 1993 on a beach in Destin, Florida. The brand was founded by Eric and Delora Jenrich to offer a healthier fast-food alternative. There are now more than 1400 Tropical Smoothie Cafe locations nationwide.

The brand offers a plethora of deliciously healthy smoothie drinks, snacks, and more. The brand continues to add new drinks. Currently featured items include the Cranberry Truffle and the Very Berry Cranberry, just in time for the holidays. Featured snacks include the Mixed Berry Greek Yogurt Bowl and the All American Wrap.

Try these snacks, drinks, and more at the new Tropical Smoothie Cafe when it opens at 11910 E. US 290 HWY Unit 150, in early 2026.
