The Rowdy Cowboy is Swinging Into the Greater Austin Area

“Austin and Round Rock are getting their very own Rowdy Cowboy,” excited Rowdy Cowboy owner, Kevin Richardson, said of the Grapevine-born eatery entering the Greater Austin market. What Now Austin caught up with the original Rowdy Cowboy himself to chat about the new restaurant set to open at 2401 IH 35 S in Round Rock

According to this state filing, construction on the new Rowdy Cowboy is expected to start this December and wrap up in March 2026. Richardson confirmed that the doors to the new Rowdy Cowboy coming to Williamson County will indeed open in March 2026.

“We’re looking forward to coming to the area and giving people a great product and a great experience,” Richardson said. 

Richardson opened the first Rowdy Cowboy in Grapevine last July. Since, then he’s opened another in Colony and has plans to open at least two in the Greater Austin area, so the Round Rock location is only the beginning of the Rowdy Cowboy expansion.

A sports bar its core, the Rodwy Cowboy offers good eats and an even better experience to its guests and returning customers.

“There’s not a bad seat in the house to watch your favorite sports, and it’s definitely what we consider and premier sports bar experience,” Richardson said. 

“You’re getting great food, craft cocktails, the coldest beer in town, and the service is second to none.” 

With a modern country Texas vibe, the Rowdy Cowboy cooks up and dishes out a variety of food with a long list of drinks to choose from. Though there are only two Rowdy Cowboy locations open right now, Richardson shared that he expands he plans to keep all locations the same.

“The one thing that we try to do is, we provide such a good product that we want to try to mimic that great product everywhere we go,” Richardson said. 

With a long list of appetizers, wings, and everything in between,there’s something for the rowdy cowboy or girl in all of us. But Richardson shared that the crowd favorite is currently Burnt Ends Stuffed Jalapenos. Stuffed with mixed cheese and burnt-end brisket and made with fresh Jalapenos, it’s a dish that’s surely memorable.

“It’s like Russian roulette, you might get one that’ll make you say, ‘that’s not that spicy, that’s not bad,’ and the next one just might light you up,” Richardson said with a chuckle.
