After a hiatus, a brewery in Buckman may be coming back.
The owners of ForeLand Beer recently submitted an application for their former Portland location, 2511 SE Belmont Street. As of last year, the brewery known for their pilsners was reported to be closed. An opening date for the location is yet to be announced.
ForeLand Beer is currently located in McMinnville at 777 NE 4th Street. It first opened in 2020 and was named Best New Brewery in 2021’s Oregon Beer Awards. The Buckman location then opened in 2023, which was called The Study, and closed sometime last year.
The Buckman brewery quickly became a popular spot at the corner of SE 25th Avenue and SE Belmont Street. It is across the street from Old Friends Coffee Roasters and next to Serra Dispensary.
Managing partner David Sanguinetti is also the founder of Allegory Brewing and formerly The Bitter Monk pub. He and his team serve rotating lagers and IPAs on their beer menu, and host two food trucks at the McMinnville location. Sanguinetti has not yet responded to What Now Portland’s request for comment.
In the application, there is restaurant seating for 30 inside and 40 outside. The hours of operation are listed as 3-10 p.m. on weekdays, and noon-10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. No official announcement has been made on ForeLand’s social media accounts.
