B-Side Group has plans to bring a new concept to 222 East Bland St. in South End next year, according to a release. The space formerly housed Futo Buta.
The 1,600-square-foot space will transform into a modern pasta bar and cafe. B-Side’s culinary director Vince Giancarlo and beverage director Henry Schmulling are heading up the food and beverage program.
Its food and beverage offerings will feature a menu that emphasizes simplicity, with items such as handmade pasta and chef-driven entrees. An Italian-inspired beverage program will complement the food menu, featuring negroni- and amaro-forward cocktails, Italian spirits and a traditional daytime espresso bar.
The design will offer a warm, moody atmosphere, with touches such as a chef’s window and chef’s table that open to the dining room. There will also be a patio positioned along the Rail Trail.
The name of the forthcoming spot is yet to be announced. It is slated to open in Q2 of 2026.
B-Side Group opened VINYL in South End in 2022 and is expected to open The Story of Mi Cariño in January.
