Paris Baguette is on a mission to open 1,000 locations in North America by 2030, so the brand is continuing its expansion in Texas by bringing a second location to the Greater Austin area. According to this recently filed state permit, the pastry shop is expected to open at the Bluebonnet Plaza in Georgetown at 1314 W University Avenue.
Though expansion details are ongoing, construction details from the permit show that 2026 will be a big year for the brand, as they embark on completing and opening the new Georgetown Paris Baguette by July 2026.
Soyeong and Yong Suk Lee are the franchisees behind the W. University Paris Baguette opening. Lee confirmed with What Now Austin that he will be opening the new Paris Baguette in Georgetown, but did not share any more details about the opening.
Paris Baguette first entered the US market in 2005 after opening the brand’s first overseas store in Shanghai, China. The origins of the booming cakes and sweets shops began with the 1988 launch of the bakery cafe franchise brand in South Korea by the Paris Croissant company. Since its inception, Paris Baguette has become a global franchise with thousands of locations. While originally focused on a Korean-inspired European bakery culture, the chain has adapted to new markets.
“Treating you as our neighbor means treating you to the very best. It’s why we pour our heart into everything we do. It’s why pastries to use aren’t just a product, they’re our passion,” the website reads.
Paris Baguette serves up a variety of fresh cakes, sweets and pastries, breads, sandwiches, and much more. The blossoming bakery chain also serves a variety of cold and hot beverages to help wash down its delicious treats and eats.
