Los Amores de Julia is expanding beyond California and Mexico, with its first stop in Texas. According to a state permit, Los Amores de Julia is expected to open at the La Picosa Town Center at 7514 S. New Braunfels Ave.
Construction on the new Mexican Bistro is expected to start at the beginning of next year and is slated to wrap up by May of 2026. If all goes well, the eatery should be up and running by the end of May. The single-story first-generation restaurant will sit at approximately 3500 square feet, costing $300,000 to erect.
The owner behind the widely celebrated eatery, Misale Guerrero, first opened Los Amores de Julia in Rosarito, Mexico, before bringing it to the States. The first US location opened in Pico, California, before opening in Hesperia.
“Our story is a testament to the enduring love for authentic Mexican cuisine. Our restaurant is a tribute to culinary artistry and the timeless traditions passed down through generations,” the website reads.
“With meticulous attention to detail, we’ve curated a menu that reflects the rich tapestry of Mexican flavors. Every dish we create is a labor of love, prepared with the finest ingredients and an unwavering commitment to preserving the essence of Mexico’s culinary heritage.”
Los Amores de Julia offers brunch and dinner, a kids’ menu, and a host of drinks and desserts. Cooking up and dishing out traditional meals like the Santo Sopes and a wide variety of enchiladas, Los Amores de Julia stays true to its authenticity with each flavor in each dish.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Guerrero for more details on the new opening, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
